A bronze figure looks out to sea hoping and wishing her fisherman husband will soon return safely. Her right knee is well worn from tourists and holiday-makers sitting for a photo at the promenade in the Mediterranean fishing port of Torrevieja.

Glue Clamp and Screw

Remnant of Terror

This is what remains of the SS barracks at Sachsenhausen concentration camp, 15 km from Berlin. It's amazing that it has not been knocked down as it does not comprise part of the memorial site adjacent to it The shots are not great because I had to squeeze the lens through a chink in the fence which protects it from close scrutiny and I suppose to keep out any Neo-Nazis who might want to use it as a sort of macabre shrine.
